Just bought tyres based on a guide I found, sharing what I learned
Thought I'd post this since I spent way too long agonising over tyres for my Accord and figured someone else might benefit. I was about to just let the tyre shop pick whatever they had in stock, which in hindsight would have been a mistake because they were pushing a brand I'd never heard of at a price that didn't make sense. Did some proper reading and came across a Useful tyre buying guide with key factors to consider which walked through things like treadwear ratings, wet grip labels and why the load index matters more than people think. Ended up going for a mid range set with better wet grip rather than the cheapest option, and honestly the difference in road noise alone was noticeable immediately. The guide also explained why you shouldn't mix tyre types across axles, which I didn't know and probably would have done out of laziness. Anyway if you're in the same boat as I was, it's worth reading up before you walk into a shop because they'll definitely try to steer you towards whatever they need to clear.
