Does air suspension actually help with speed bumps or is it a gimmick?

I've been going back and forth on whether air suspension is worth it for the roads we actually drive on, because half my commute is speed bumps and the other half is patchy tarmac. My current car handles it but it's not comfortable, and I'm starting to think ride quality matters more than I used to admit. I came across suspensionrepairdubai.ae/air-suspension-pros-cons-dubai while reading up on it, but I'd rather hear from people living with it day to day. Does air suspension genuinely smooth out the rough stuff, or does it just feel fancy on smooth roads and struggle with the same bumps? Also, does the adjustable ride height actually help with steep ramps and speed bumps, or is that more of a marketing feature?
