Dodge Charger AC only cold on one side, is that a real problem?
My Dodge Charger has about seventy thousand kilometres, and for the last week the AC has been strange. The driver side blows cold air, but the passenger side is only cool, and sometimes it gets warm when I am stuck in traffic. I live in Sharjah, and the car sits in the sun all day, so I use the AC from the minute I start the engine. My cousin says it just needs a gas refill. A friend says one side warmer than the other points to a blend door or a low gas level, and that a refill alone will not fix it. I looked online for an Expert Dodge AC service in Sharjah, but every page said the same thing, so I still do not know what a proper check includes. Does a good shop test the pressure and look for a leak first? Can a stuck blend door or a dirty cabin filter cause uneven air? Does the shop scan the car for codes, since the AC is controlled by a computer? How long does a check take, and what should it cost on a Dodge? Is it safe to keep driving without the AC for a few days? If your Dodge had the same problem, please tell me what the cause was, what you paid, and what you would do differently. Easy answers help me most.
